Starting Your Counselling

How to Start

The first step is to make an appointment and phone 07871385767. or send an enquiry email through the link below. Our general email is info@rema.lst.ac.uk The first person you talk to will take you through our processes and book an appointment for an initial assessment.

Initial Assessment

The initial assessment is a chance for you discuss what brings you to counselling. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions about counselling and your fee will be set.

The fee for an initial assessment is £20. The appointment lasts 50 minutes and is safe and confidential.

Personal Counselling

After your initial assessment, a counsellor will be allocated at a time to suit your availability. When you start your sessions, you will be seen on a weekly basis by the same counsellor and always on the agreed day and time.

In order for the counselling to be beneficial we are asking you to try to commit to 10 sessions initially.
After that we are here for you. Counselling continues for as long as necessary but no longer than you need.

Ending Your Personal Counselling

Ending counselling is an important step in your personal journey. It often brings up difficult emotions and we value the importance of the relationship you have with your counsellor.

Together you can review your progress and discuss the best time for you to terminate your counselling. You will then work towards an ending and a chance to say goodbye to each other.
